We wish to congratulate the following sites for being named as The Comedy Zone's "Reader's Picks" award winners. The competition stemming from this award is fierce ... (or the winner managed to bribe/beg/plead the internet community to vote for their site) ... and holds the distinction of being based on popularity, rather than one single sloth who sits at his computer all day, surfing the web (it's actually many sloths!). We salute these sites for managing to persuade the online masses to take a few seconds and vote on their behalf!
(Yea ... we know the apostrophe is in the wrong place!!)

November 1998

The Joe Cartoon Co.
We've always had a soft spot for good toons. We define good as being rather sick, twisted and very politically incorrect ... and boy, does Joe and Co. fit the bill! Highlights include the whole damn site and we bestow our four thumbs up endorsement. You'll need Shockwave™ to enjoy parts of this site's animation ... well worth the effort. GREAT STUFF!! The Biggest Waste of Bandwidth ...
The name alone makes this a winner in our book. Chock full of fun, the original comedic essays in the "Journal Entries" section are the highlight, but don't forget to check out all the other stuff, including the Magic Spam feature. We'd be remiss not to mention that finding out how old we would be on the planet Mercury really made our day ... err ... month ... whatever!! (08/10/98) (08/10/98)

Michael M. Bates: My Side of the Swamp
Original commentary and satirical features from the right side of the fence ... or in this case swamp. A gem of a site and we give a three thumbs up! (04/27/98)

We pretty much took the summer off, so Mike gets the prize for that period. What a lucky guy!!

March 1998

Activegrams
At first this appeared to be another one of those email greeting card "thingies" ... but, oh does this one stand out. Sure you can send a greeting card quickie that attaches an AVI file, but swing over to the series section for some great fun. Highlight: the Spam section. (03/17/98)

Gordon and Rogue
Offering a great collection of radio commercial parodies. Both were members of the "Uncle Floyd Show" ... Rogue, definitely being the prettier of the two! Highlights for us: "Pet Conjunction" and the "Interstellar Adventures." You'll need RealAudio to enjoy this gem, but the price is right! (03/17/98)

January - February 1998

The Weinstock Pile - Harper Lee Weinstock
Part of Alabama Live, you'll find some super original essays covering a variety of topics. Updated weekly, you'll want to make this a permanent bookmark. Highlights: the whole damn thing! (01/22/98)

Won with 63% of the votes

We were lazy during February, so Harper gets that month by default as well ... we're so nice it almost hurts!!
